What’s the weirdest way you’ve ever gotten injured?

When I was younger, I almost poked my eye out with the prongs of a nightlight. I was trying on sweatpants that were too long (past my legs) and I was impatient, so after showing them to Mom I ran back up stairs and slipped on the ends of the legs, falling back down the stairs. At the bottom was a paper bag filled with things that needed to be thrown out but hadn’t been yet, including a night light, the prongs of which went into the skin near my right eye. The worst part was getting the stitches - they only used local anesthesia, so I had to watch them come at my eye with the needle.

Alternatively, I once stepped on a shark tooth. People from some aquarium came to our school to teach us about fish/marine life and were giving out shark’s teeth on little paper placards as souvenirs. My brother had torn his off the placard and left the tooth itself in the middle of the hall for reasons unfathomable. I went to the bathroom, and the phone rang so I ran out to get it, stepping on the tooth in the process. It took me reaching the phone to realize I was in pain, and then I answered Mom’s call with essentially “Hi Mom, I’m bleeding.”

Who’s your favorite fictional character?

Hard to say. I have a lot of ones that I like, but it usually depends on what I’m currently reading. Right now I’m experiencing a swing back into the Harry Potter fandom and my favorite characters are Harry and Luna.

What do you need to do to fall asleep?

Blankets, but not because they keep me warm. It’s actually more of the weight of them. In the spring I actually lose sleep when I have to switch from a lot of heavy blankets to the lighter blankets, and even in the summer I can’t sleep without at least a quilt. In fall I start to sleep better because I can put the blankets back on. I can stick my legs out and be fine, but in order to sleep I have to have some kind of perceivable weight on my torso.

Favorite game to play?

Again, depends. Right now it’s Sudoku.

Any weird or unique talents?

…I can fold my tongue?

If you had a time machine, where and when would you go and why?

I would visit Riverside, Iowa on March 22, 2228 and I’ll let you guys figure out why.

Name one interesting thing about whatever room/place you’re currently in.

It has a piano in it.

What’s something you want to do before you die?

Live someplace not-Virginia.

If you write, what sort of scenes/parts do you dread writing? If you don’t write, what sort of scenes do you dread reading?

Anything embarrassing. I can make it through poorly written scenes, scary scenes, gross scenes, etc. but if the author does a good enough job portraying a character’s embarrassment, I don’t like to read it because I have second-hand embarrassment.

Guilty pleasure?

Peanut M&Ms

Worst night you’ve ever spent in a hotel room.

Once my family and I went to visit my Aunt, who lives in North Carolina. It was a bit of a drive from here to there, and since there’s five of us, we had planned to stay in a hotel since my Aunt didn’t have enough beds at her house. I had gotten my wisdom teeth out earlier that week, and was still taking Vicodin for the pain. For comparison’s sake, it is of note that I had taken Vicodin “to calm me” before the procedure. It kicked in in the waiting room and I proceeded to complain bitterly in the waiting room about the inconsiderate choice of carpeting, as the design was a pattern of overlapping concentric circles and they were all spinning in different directions, giving me a headache.

In any case, we checked into the hotel room late after a long day of driving, and were trying to sleep, but the neighbors were too loud. I had already taken the Vicodin, so I wasn’t fully aware of what was going on in our room, and was instead perfectly content to lie still until the walls and floor stopped undulating. As such, I didn’t care about the neighbors, but the rest of my family couldn’t sleep. Around 3am or so, Mom decided that she’d had enough and we were leaving the hotel to go to our Aunt’s house after all, with the idea that we’d somehow find a place for all of us to sleep and it’d be better than listening to the neighbors. I don’t remember much about the trip there except for a prevailing sense of confusion and disgruntledness, but that night would still probably qualify as my worst night in a hotel.

I don’t have any questions of my own, but if anyone else would like to answer Tigrislupa’s questions, they may feel free.

tumblrbot asked: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE INANIMATE OBJECT?

My laptop! Which… is kind of a boring answer.
